Replatforming to Shopify for Speed, Scale, and Simplicity

Shopify Development & SEO-Preserving Migration

A Stage Worthy of Its Legacy.

We partnered with Allgoods, a large Tasmanian retailer with three physical stores and a busy e-commerce channel, to replatform from WordPress/WooCommerce to Shopify. We scoped, designed, and delivered a new storefront; integrated payments and third-party systems; built a “Check store stock” feature; imported inventory for 11,000+ SKUs; and executed an SEO-safe migration so Allgoods kept its hard-won visibility while gaining a faster, easier-to-manage platform.

The Client

Allgoods serves Tasmanians online and in-store with a broad, utility-first product range. With three bricks-and-mortar locations and a national e-commerce presence, the business needed a platform that could keep pace with merchandising complexity while staying effortless for customers to navigate.

The Challenge

Allgoods’ WooCommerce site had reached its limits: maintenance burden, design constraints, and growing complexity around inventory and in-store availability. The team needed to:

  • Modernise UX for 11k+ products/SKUs without overwhelming users

  • Replace manual maintenance with a simpler, reliable platform

  • Preserve SEO equity built over years on WooCommerce

  • Connect third-party systems (inventory, gift cards, store stock)

  • Offer modern payments and clear store-stock visibility

Our Solution

Experience Design & Navigation

We ran targeted UX discovery and rebuilt information architecture for scale. The new mega-navigation, collection hierarchy, and product templates make it effortless to browse deep catalogues, filter quickly, and convert with fewer steps.

Shopify Replatforming & Build

We implemented a performant Shopify theme with clean, modular sections so the Allgoods team can launch pages without developers. Product data, collections, and metafields were modelled to support complex merchandising.

Third-Party Integrations

We integrated REX Software (for gift cards, inventory, store stock, and operational data) so inventory and entitlements stay in sync. We also added Afterpay and Zip Pay to reduce friction at checkout and lift conversion.

“Check Store Stock” Feature

We built a store-availability component so customers can see if a product is available in specific stores or online—reducing uncertainty, calls to stores, and last-mile disappointment.

Inventory Import & Data Hygiene

We normalised product data and executed a high-volume import to Shopify, establishing predictable SKU, variant, and stock handling across channels.

SEO Continuity

To protect rankings, we mapped legacy URLs to Shopify paths, implemented a comprehensive 301 redirect set, optimised templates for crawlability, and preserved metadata and internal-link structures—maintaining equity while setting the stage for future growth.

The Impact

Allgoods gained a faster, easier-to-manage storefront that scales with their catalogue and stores—without sacrificing search visibility.

Operational Simplicity

Shopify sections + data model enable the team to update content without developer lift.

Frictionless Payments

Afterpay and Zip Pay provide flexible checkout options that support conversion.

Store Confidence

“Check store stock” reduces uncertainty and improves click-to-collect journeys.

SEO Preserved by Design

Redirect strategy and metadata parity protect existing rankings while improving technical hygiene.

Built to Scale

Architecture and navigation comfortably support 11,000+ SKUs with clearer findability.

👉 Result: a modern, maintainable Shopify storefront that aligns with Allgoods’ in-store experience and supports growth across channels.

How We Solved Allgoods’ Challenges

Why did Allgoods move from WooCommerce to Shopify?

Allgoods needed a platform that was easier to maintain, scalable for over 11,000 products, and able to integrate seamlessly with third-party systems. Shopify provided a more stable foundation while preserving their strong SEO performance.

How was SEO protected during the migration?

We mapped URLs, optimised redirects, and carried over metadata from the WooCommerce site to Shopify. This ensured Allgoods kept its existing search rankings while creating a structure that could grow in organic visibility long-term.

What integrations were included in the new Shopify site?

The site integrates with REX Software for gift cards, stock management, and inventory. We also added Afterpay and Zip Pay to improve checkout conversion and provide flexible payment options for customers.

What business results did the new site target?

The project aimed to simplify maintenance, improve user experience across thousands of products, support omnichannel sales, and sustain Allgoods’ strong SEO presence — ultimately driving more conversions both online and in-store.
