FAQs - Fergus Integration

Our Frequently Asked Questions about our integration between Fergus and HubSpot

Does Fergus Sync create duplicate customers in Fergus?

No. The integration checks for an existing Fergus customer based on the HubSpot company. If a match is found, it updates that customer instead of creating a new one.

What happens if there are multiple contacts for the same HubSpot company?

Only one contact is treated as the Main Contact and synced to Fergus. You can control which contact this is (for example, via a “Main Contact” association label or by using the most recently associated contact).

Can I sync other Fergus contacts (“Other Contacts” on the customer record)?

Not at this time. Fergus’s public API only exposes the Main Contact and Billing Contact, so additional contacts can’t be created or managed by the integration.

How often does the data sync?

  • HubSpot → Fergus: in real time when contacts are created or updated.

  • Fergus → HubSpot: either via webhooks (near real time) or a scheduled sync (e.g. every 30 minutes), depending on how your account is configured.

What happens if we hit Fergus’s API rate limit?

Fergus Sync respects the 100-requests-per-minute limit. If the limit is reached, requests are queued and retried so data is not lost.
